The STEM integrated practicum module is able to train student skills because students can experience the learning process directly. The use of the ethnoscience approach in the practicum module can introduce facts and phenomena that can be explained scientifically. In general, the aim of this research is to produce an science practicum module integrated STEM using ethnoscience approach that valid and practical to use. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&amp;D). The research method used in the 3 stages of a the ADDIE, namely analysis, design, and development. The research instrument consisted of a validity and practicality test questionnaire. The results of the development stage indicate that the practicum module is valid with the validity test value given by the expert validator of 0,82. Practicum module in practical category with a questionnaire value of 0,89 teacher responses and 0,85 students responses. The results showed that science practicum module integrated STEM using ethnoscience approach can be used with valid and practical categories.</p> Suci Rafifah Rahmah Evita Putri ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2024-11-07 2024-11-07 5 2 150 162 10.24036/universe.v5i2.230 The Development Science Practicum Module STEM Integratedly on Light Topics with Realistic Approach http://universe.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/universe/article/view/252 <p>Ideally, science does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but includes attitudes and skills. The implementation of practicum activities aims to improve student skills, cannot be separated from the avalilability of teaching materials that used as a guide in practicum activities. This study purpose to produce a valid and practice science practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach. This research is urgent because produce teaching material that helps teacher and student to assist the practicum activities and can help student to understand the concepts through realistic approach. This is <em>Research and Development</em> (R&amp;D) with three stages of the ADDIE model, namely <em>Analysis; Design; </em>and<em> Development</em>. The result shows the science practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach was valid and practice. Valid and practice means that the teaching material are feasible and easy for use in the learning process. Based on the results, it can be concluded that scince practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach can be used as teaching material that supports practicum activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> Nurullina Fajri Rahmah Evita Putri ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2024-11-29 2024-11-29 5 2 163 175 10.24036/universe.v5i2.252 IMPLEMENTATION OF INTEGRATED ETHNOSCIENCE INTERACTIVE E-MODULES IN ENERGY MATERIALS IN LIFE SYSTEMS ON LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS VII STUDENTS http://universe.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/universe/article/view/556 <p>The 21st century, revolution industry 4.0, and the 2013 curriculum require students to be able to take advantage of information and communication technology and require students to be more active in learning, as well as student-centered learning. However, in reality the students have not been active in learning and the learning time for energy material in living systems has not been effective. One solution to this problem is to implement an integrated science interactive e-module integrated with ethnoscience so that students can learn actively and independently. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an integrated science interactive e-module integrated with ethnoscience on energy material in living systems that is significant for class VII student learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The experimental class used an integrated science interactive e-module integrated with ethnoscience, while the control class used printed teaching materials. The results of the data analysis show that there is an effect of the implementation of an integrated Ethnoscience integrated science interactive e-module on energy material in living systems that is significant for class VII student learning outcomes.</p> Atiqah Ulya Hayandi Skunda Diliarosta ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2024-12-09 2024-12-09 5 2 176 183 10.24036/universe.v5i2.556 THE CROSSWORD PUZZLE SUPPORT OF THE THINK PAIR SHARE COOPERATIVE LEARNING AND THE AFFECTNESS TO COGNITIVE ABILITY http://universe.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/universe/article/view/548 <p>This research was motivated by the low student learning outcomes in science learning at &nbsp;8th grade in Secondary School 34 Padang. It is known that there are still many students who in the learning process are less active and cooperate with each other. Student learning outcomes are classified as low with an average below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 80. Teacher apply teacher centered learning methods in the learning process. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes with the Guided Inquiry learning model on the material Temperature, heat and expansion. This research was conducted at SMPN 29 Padang for the 2022/2023 school year. The samples in this study were 32 students of class VII.6 and 32 students of class VII.7.</p> <p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Guided Inquiry learning model on learning outcomes of the human digestive system in class VIII students of SMPN 40 Padang. The research design was a quasi-experimental and posttest only non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 40 Padang consisting of 5 classes with a total of 427 students. The sample for this study used a random sampling technique, so that the selected sample was class VIII3 as the experimental class and class VIII4 as the control class. Data collection used cognitive learning outcomes tests, objective questions and psychomotor assessment sheets that had been validated previously. The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes in the experimental class was 58.8 higher than the control class, which was 42. The results of the hypothesis test used the t-test with tcount (4.670) &gt; ttable (1.677) at a significant level of 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha accepted. This is line with the demands of the 21st century, namely the need for human resources with 4C skills. Therefore, in the field of education must use a curriculum that supports this. The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum that encourages 4C skills in education. In the field of 21st century education it is closely related to the STEM approach which is a discipline in the world of education. Learning with the STEM approach is learning that combines four disciplines, namely Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics by focusing on two or more fields in the learning process so that students are active in solving problems in the real world. One way to integrate STEM into learning is through learning media. The type of this research is Research and Development (R&amp;D). The development model used is the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. This research was only conducted up to the development stage. The instruments used in this study were teacher and student interview sheets, validity test questionnaires and practical test questionnaires. The research data is calculated using the Moment Kappa (k) formula to analyze the results of the validity and practicality test of android-based learning media. The results of the validity test obtained an average kappa moment (k) value of 0.86 with a very high validity category. The results of the practice test on teachers obtained an average kappa (k) moment value of 0.96 with a very high practicality category and the results of the practical test on students obtained an average kappa (k) moment value of 0.84 with a very high practicality category . Based on these results, it means that Android-based learning media is integrated with STEM projects on substance material and its changes are valid and practical.</p> M.Rifki Ilham Rani Oktavia ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-05-20 2025-05-20 5 2 220 228 10.24036/universe.v5i2.565
