The Effectiveness of STEM Integrated Science Practicum Module with Ethnoscience Approach on Students Cognitive Skill

Abstract

The aim to this research is determine the effectiveness of the STEM-integrated science practicum module with an ethnoscience approach to material in living systems on students' cognitive abilities. The type of research used in this research is Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class 7^th grade. Sampling was taken using purposive sampling technique.,The results show that the posttest score was higher than the pretest and the results of the N-Gain calculation show that the experimental class was in the high criteria with 0.81, while in the control class it was in the medium criteria with 0.69. It can be concluded that the used of the STEM-integrated science practicum module with an ethnoscience approach is effective on the cognitive abilities of 7^th grade students on energy in living systems topic.
