Peer Review Process

UNIVERSE: Journal of Science Education Teaching and Learning is committed to maintaining the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of the research it publishes. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to an editorial assessment and peer review process designed to ensure that published articles meet appropriate scholarly standards.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript is examined by the Editorial Team to determine its relevance to the journal's scope, compliance with the author guidelines, originality, and general suitability for publication. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements or fall outside its scope may be rejected at this stage without external peer review.

Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence and ability to provide an objective and constructive assessment of the manuscript.

The review process evaluates the manuscript's originality, theoretical foundation, research methodology, quality of analysis, interpretation of findings, contribution to the field, clarity of presentation, and adherence to research ethics.

The journal applies a [double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other]. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality, disclose any potential conflicts of interest, and provide fair, evidence-based, and constructive feedback.

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers' comments and the editor's assessment, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further substantive revision.
  • Minor Revision: The manuscript requires limited revisions before a final decision can be made.
  • Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may be subject to further review.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's publication standards or is otherwise unsuitable for publication.

The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor. Reviewers provide recommendations, but editorial decisions are made independently and are not determined solely by the number or outcome of reviewers' recommendations.

Revision and Final Evaluation

Authors receiving a revision decision are required to address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the period specified by the Editorial Team. Authors may be asked to provide a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed or, where appropriate, why a suggested change has not been adopted.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by the editor, depending on the nature and extent of the revisions. Acceptance is granted only after the manuscript has satisfactorily met the journal's editorial and scholarly requirements.

Ethical Standards and Confidentiality

All participants in the peer review process are expected to uphold the principles of confidentiality, objectivity, fairness, and academic integrity. Reviewers must not use unpublished information for personal advantage, and editors must manage manuscripts impartially and disclose or avoid conflicts of interest. UNIVERSE: Journal of Science Education Teaching and Learning is committed to conducting a fair, rigorous, and transparent peer review process to support the publication of credible and academically valuable research.
