Abstract
The low learning outcomes are caused by the learning model applied by the teacher which is less varied and conventional by using lecture, discussion and question and answer methods which have an impact on students being less active, bored and sleepy while studying, so that students have difficulty understanding the material. Efforts were made to apply the make a match type cooperative learning model. Students match question cards and answer cards in a card game. This type of quasi-experimental research with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research population is all students of class VIII. The research samples for class VIII 2 experimental classes and 4 control classes for VIII. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of 20 multiple choice questions and student skill observation sheets. Based on the research that has been done, the average aspect of knowledge in the experimental class is 55.18 and the control class is 45.69, while the average skills are 86.32 and 76.93. Data analysis using the independent sample t-test obtained t count > t table so that there is a significant influence of the make a match type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes on the subject of the human respiratory system.
